Water Softening

Water softening is the reduction of the concentration of calcium, magnesium, and certain other metal cations in hard water. These “hardness ions” can cause a variety of undesired effects including interfering with the action of soaps, the buildup of limescale, which can foul plumbing. Conventional water-softening appliances intended for household use depend on an ion-exchange resin in which hardness ions are exchanged for sodium ions.  Each system is sized according to each individual homeowner’s specific needs.

Portasoft water softeners combine time tested principles of operation with the latest technological advancements to help protect the environment by reducing salt and water usage.  Each unit contains the following:

  • Intelligent Electronic Demand Controller
  • Portasafe Safety Overflow Control
  • Fiberglass Mineral Tank
  • Polyethylene Salt Reservoir
  • High-Capacity Resin
  • Funcitional Design
